The click is similar to the sound made when manually operating the switch. An audible clicking noise could be heard from under the dash. There were occasions when the light would come on by itself while I was driving down the highway to work. Second, even though all of the doors are securely closed, the interior dome light will remain on between 20 seconds and several hours.

First, all of the passenger power windows have failed. The most recent problems are electrical in nature. It's obvious that tomball Ford could care less if they have our current or future business. At least the people at the local Toyota dealership admit when it's their fault and rectify the problem. I don't think we will ever buy an american made car again.

He should have been more than happy to supply us with a free rental car because it was totally their fault that the work didn't get done. It's people like rick who make this whole thing a pain in the butt. Rick said no, that this particular recall didn't call for a rental car to be supplied by the dealership. It was obviously tomball Ford's fault that we would not have a car. My husband explained we needed both of our cars on Monday and asked if they would supply us with a rental car. He said they "just didn't get to it" and it wouldn't be ready until sometime Monday. At 3:50 (10 minutes prior to their closing) we contacted rick, who identified himself as the service manager at tomball Ford. The recall notice said it would only take about 1/2 day.

We called Saturday morning and was told they had "forgotten" to check the drop box until 11:00 so the work wouldn't be completed until 2:00 that afternoon. To make sure the dealership had plenty of time to complete the work, we dropped our car off Friday night, filling out the appropriate paperwork, leaving the keys and all information required in their drop box. On Thursday, 7/8, I made an appointment to bring our 2000 Mercury Sable to tomball Ford in tomball, texas on the following Saturday morning to have the recall work done (they only returned part of the recall letter, but it was regarding a stop lamp switch). The motor vehicle is out of service and in the custody of the dealer due to repair attempts, one of which occurred during the lemon law rights period. All of these failures have significantly impaired the use, value, and safety of this vehicle! they arose out of the ordinary use of the vehicle and not as a result of abuse. There was a grave issue of safety for me and my granddaughter when the airbags deployed. Every consumer has the right to expect a car they purchase to meet reasonable standards. No consumer should have to experience what I have. I was recently directed to research the consumer rights act of 1974, the magnuson-moss warranty act, sale of goods act 1979, alabama lemon laws, buyers remorse law, trade commission act, uniform commercial code, and consumer rights when buying a used car by the bbb. 00 and have not been able to drive the car for the last 10 months. Due to the depreciation of the car, the mechanical failures, and the safety issue of no airbags the vehicle is worth nothing. In February of this year 2009, the fuel pump, driver, computer, and transmission went out in this car. I have been unable to get anyone (dealer, insurance company, finance company, or manufacturer) to help me with this issue. Your department sent me a service technical bulletin stating that Ford knew of this problem in may, 2002. Ford motor company said there was a 50,000 mile warranty. The insurance company said they could do nothing "there was no impact". They told me to file the claim with my insurance company. The dealer has refused to assist me saying I bought the car "as is". On Januwhile turning into my driveway going 3-5 miles an hour both frontal airbags deployed causing an estimated $3,000. I purchased a 2002 Mercury Sable in September, 2006.
